As crime rates are increasing worldwide, crime mining requires more efficient algorithms that can handle current situations. Identifying crime hot spot areas via clustering spatio-temporal data is an emerging research area. In this paper, dynamic clustering algorithms for spatio-temporal crime data are proposed to detect hot crime spots in Kuwait. Kuwait governorates are taken as case study: the capital, Hawalli, Al-Ahmady, Al-Jahra, Al-Farawaniya, and Mubarak Al-kebeer. In addition, different crime types are considered: act of discharge and humiliation, adultery, aggravated assault, bribery, counter fitting, drugs, embezzlement, fight or resist employee on job, forging of official documents, weapon, robbery and attempted robbery, suicide and attempted suicide, and bank theft. Applying Random subspace classification to those clustered data, 98% accuracy and 99.4% ROC are obtained, having precision (98.7%), recall (98.4%), and F1 (98.28%).

This paper presents dc photovoltaic pumping system. The system consists of photovoltaic (PV) generator, boost converter and permanent magnet (PM) dc motor-pump set. Each part of the system is modelled. Photovoltaic generator parameters are extracted based on data-sheet parameters. Boost converter is designed to operate in continuous conduction mode (CCM) and controlled using incremental conductance (IC) algorithm for maximum power point tracking (MPPT).The system is simulated using Matlab/Simulink .The proposed system is studied under direct coupling and maximum power point tracking conditions. The results show a very good performance MPPT compared with direct coupling. The system is tested under varying conditions of temperature and radiation.

In recent years, photovoltaic has generation become the most popular renewable energy based
generations. However, this power generation cannot supply constant electric power output and
sometimes cause the imbalance between supply and demand. To alleviate the mentioned problem, a
number of Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWH) and Electric Vehicles (EV) are used as new control
equipment for Load Frequency Control (LFC) in order to suppress the frequency fluctuation caused by
such a large amount of renewable energy sources. However, Due to the system uncertainties such as
system parameters variation, the conventional controllers which are designed without taking system
uncertainties into account in the controller design may lose the control effect and fail to damp the
frequency deviation. This will affect the quality of supply and may deteriorate the system stability.
This paper proposes, A New load frequency control (LFC) using the coefficient diagram method
(CDM) technique in the presence of variable solar power & thermal power have been presented. The
CDM technique has been designed such that the effect of the uncertainty due to governor and turbine
parameters variation and variable solar power & load disturbance is reduced. Digital simulations for a
power system are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. A performance
comparison between the proposed and a conventional integral control scheme is carried out confirming
the superiority of the proposed CDM technique in smart power system

The paper presents a novel Hybrid-FACTS Based Stabilization Scheme controlled by a hierarchical
two-stage fuzzy logic (HFLC)-multi loop dynamic error driven controller. The proposed scheme
includes separate Fuzzy control stages for the PD and PID parts to ensure robust and effective dynamic
speed control and efficient energy utilization. The PD fuzzy stage used the global error and change of
error as the fuzzy input variables. The second stage is the PID-FLC regulation which utilizes the
output of the PD-FLC stage and the integral of the global error as input fuzzy variables. The
simulation results validate the proposed control scheme effectiveness and robustness with efficient
energy utilization, improved power quality and power factor at the Common AC Bus and load bus. A
Digital simulation model of the proposed system is developed in Matlab/Simulink/Simpower Software
Environment using operational dynamic blocks available in Simulink library.

Mine haulage drifts are the only stope access in sub-level stoping mining system. Thus, they must remain stable during their service life. Haulage drift instability could lead to serious consequences such as: production delay, damage to equipment, loss of reserves and high operational cost. The goal of this paper is the performance stability evaluation of mine haulage drifts with respect to mining sequence adopting different stochastic methods of analysis. A two-dimensional, elastoplastic, finite difference code (FLAC 2D) is used for this study. Stochastic analysis; adopting Point-Estimate Methods (PEMs), Monte-Carlo Simulation (MCS) and Random Monte-Carlo Simulation (RMCS) are then employed with the numerical modelling to tackle the inherent uncertainty associated with rockmass properties. Then, the probability of instability at last mining step (e.g., after excavating stope 3) is estimated for haulage drift side walls and roof. The stability indicators are defined in terms of displacement, stress and the extent of yield zones, which are adopted as a basis for assessing the performance stability of haulage drift. The stochastic results are presented and compared in terms of probability of occurrence at last mining stage (e.g., after excavating stope 3) adopting displacement/convergence criterion.

Mine haulage drifts are the arteries of a mine. They are used for the transportation of blasted ore
from the draw point to nearby ore pass or dumping point in deep underground mines. Thus, they
must be remained functional during their service life. Otherwise, their instability could lead to
serious consequences such as injuries, delay of production and increased operational cost. The
objective of this paper is to evaluate the performance stability of mine haulage drifts with respect to
mining step adopting numerical modeling of analysis. A two-dimensional, elastoplastic, finite
difference code (FLAC 2D) is built for the purpose of this study. Haulage drift performance is
evaluated using stability indicators and numerical modeling results are presented in terms
displacement, stress and the extent of yield zones with espect to mining step.

Buildings facades are considered the expression of architecture and of the extent to which the city
exhibits architectural harmony. These interfaces and the resulting visual unit will reflect the image
of the physical environment of the city. The key problem for research pertaining to many of the
buildings in Holy Makkah is due to their lack of architectural composition، and the lack of harmony
between the facades، resulting in visual clutter، and affecting the appearance of the city، and even
causing her to lose her urban and architectural qualities.
This research aims to study and analyze the facades of some buildings to highlight the visual clutter
and try to suggest appropriate solution that contribute the reduction of visual clutter.
The research is based on the descriptive/analytical method. It employs visual study of facades of
buildings in Makkah which were chosen from one of the main streets in Makkah، the Azizia Street
and a visual analysis of the buildings located on the north side of the street، specifically from Sidqi
road to King Khalid road. In addition، The researchers used questionnaires to explore the views of
architect regarding building facades.
The research found through the description and analysis the building facades that lack harmony،
resulting in a visual clutter. The researchers conclude that visual clutter is due to the lack of design
guidelines that، control and direct of the design process. Therefore، the most important
recommendations of the research is to establish guidelines for design of facades to limit visual
clutter. The researchers also emphasizes the need to educate owners and architects about the
improving the visual image of the city

Al-Darb Al-Ahmar area is the most important historic areas in Cairo city in order to fit on many
archaeological and historical buildings from different eras as well as it includes old buildings and
houses with distinct value in style and decoration architecture, the area has exposed to the deterioration
and neglect for many years. So the Aga Khan foundation and other common entities have to intervene in
the area in the form of various development programs, and by contributing to the revival and
development project of Al-Darb Al-Ahmar area as one of the most important local experiments in the
conservation on the historical areas. However, the conservation experiment also did not continue due to
several factors led to the deterioration of the area again, and thus this experiment needs to analyze and
evaluate to ensure the continuity of intervention policies from the perspective of the three sustainability
fields (urban -economic-social). One of the strategic analysis tools has been using - Based on statistics
and surveys' the development of Darb El Ahmar community Company conducted by region and
personal interviews from researchers with the responsible for the area to monitor the ongoing variables -
-which is a quartet analysis (SWOT). Where it can be applied to urban, economic and social fields
which are used by many Arab and foreign countries in the successful conservation historical areas
projects to ensure its sustainability and it is qualified to indicate the positive and negative experience
aspects and thus benefit from it in similar experiences to conservation on the historical areas in Egypt.

This paper aims at presenting the lessons learned during the planning, initiation and
execution of an experimental youth workshop named ""How to make your own Dream
House?". The workshop took place in the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University,
Egypt as a part of a department of Architecture activity week in the year 2013. This
workshop simulated the real-life architecture experience to two different age groups of
young learners: kids from 7-10 years old and teens from 11-17 years old. The targeted
youth audience represented a population not likely to consider the study of architecture and
that was a relevant factor in the workshop creation .To achieve the aim of the workshop the
constructivism design studio environment was applied as a major component for learning
architecture. The detected findings of this paper could help those involve in teaching
architecture to either young learners or junior students of architecture in stimulating
collaborative architecture learning environments. Meanwhile, the paper offers relevant
methods of introducing future generations to the study of architecture.

The selection process of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems is a crucial
process that irritates decision makers. In Egypt the selection process of such systems is mostly
biased by the perception of the owner, his intuition and the pre- set budget by the manager. The
non- objective decision making and the inappropriate selection of (HVAC) systems cause severe
problems that range from changes in the space requirements to adapt with the chosen system, the
provision of accessibility for maintenance and finally affecting their cost effectiveness. Both the
architect and the electromechanical team are the primary stakeholders concerned with the actual
selection process of the HVAC system. The divergence between their views is obvious in the
methods and priorities of their selection process. Thus managing good understanding between the
architect and the electromechanical team is crucial. This study intends to access the current
practices used in the selection process of HVAC systems in buildings, through showing
discrepancies among both perceptions; the architect's and the electromechanical. To achieve
the objective of the paper a questionnaire was conducted. The target groups included students,
graduates and experts in architecture and electromechanical disciplines. The results of this study
showed remarkably how differences between the selection processes conducted by the target groups
had a great impact on the efficiency of selected HVAC systems in buildings
