In this study different mechanical, physical and durability tests were manufactured to investigate the effect of recycled rubber as a partial replacement of fine aggregate by volume on the properties of plain concrete pavements (PC). First step of this paper, the slump, flexural and compression tests are carried out for trial batches to choose airfield PC mix. The second step, the slump, flexural and compression tests are carried out to select the optimum percentage of rubber as a partial replacement of fine aggregate by volume. Afterward, the tests of slump, compression, three point bending of single edge notched beam, splitting, flexural, impact, ultrasonic pulse velocity, Schmidt hammer, electric resistivity, water absorption and abrasion resistance were performed. Results of the experimental study indicated that the addition of rubber recorded significant to slight improvement in the mechanical, some physical and some durability properties of PC. Slight reduction in other properties of PC was observed.

Breast Cancer (BC) is considered one from various diseases that has got great attention in the last decades. This is because the high mortality rates among young women in the whole world according to this disease. The early detection of this disease is necessary to enhance the opportunity of survival. Thermography is an efficient screening tool that can help in detecting BC by indicating parts of the body where an abnormal temperature variation is found. To realize an effective BC detection system using thermography, it is necessary to locate the region of interest (ROI) in the thermograms prior to analysis. This paper introduces a new automatic segmentation method (SM) for identifying the ROI image from breast thermograms. It depends on the statistics of image in DMR-IR database. After detecting the boundaries of ROI using this new SM, two different approaches for accurate identifying and enhancing the breast boundaries are investigated: the Hough transform (HT) algorithm to locate and define the parabola curves in the breast image, and a second approach introducing the enhancement of the contrast of detected boundaries in the breast ROI image. To evaluate the results of this method, statistical features have been extracted from the segmented ROI image. Then, we used the Support Vector Machine (SVM) and the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) classifiers to detect the normal and abnormal breasts based on these features. The experimental results prove that the accuracy of SVM, and ANN classifiers reached to 96.67% and 96.07%, respectively. This denotes that the proposed automatic SM is a favorable technique for extracting the breast ROI image from breast thermograms.

Using of shrouded valve creates high swirl ratio inside the engine cylinder. Moreover, using of swirl generation device in the inlet port can improve this swirl ratio. In this paper, both twisted tap and guide vanes devices inserted in the inlet port are used individually for enhancing the generated swirl by the shrouded valve. In addition, the effect of these combinations on the volumetric efficiency and the turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) is studied. A three-dimensional simulation model based on SST k- ω model was used for predicting the air flow characteristics through the inlet port and the engine cylinder in both intake and compression strokes. The results showed that the using of twisted tap and guide vanes with the shrouded valve combinations increases the swirl ratio by 5.2% and 2%, respectively, at the start of injection. They also increase the TKE by 145% and 86.5% but they decrease the volumetric efficiency by about 3%.

Starting from January 2011 Egyptian revolution, Egypt has started the way for achieving its development. Regardless the emerged obstacles, the thinker, and scientists started to prepare different development projects and polices in urban development, some of them got reviewed, others reinvented and the rest of them started to be implemented. The General Authority for Urban Planning announced the project of Egypt 2050 that depends on different development cores (Suez Cana, Red Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Sinai development, and the new capital city) The main aim of this project was to overcome the highly increasing population that is expected to reach 145 million. This research discusses one of these development axes، Red Sea axe، from regional planning scale. Based on different strategies and theories of regional development and based on the international experiences in this field. The purpose of this research is to develop a framework for regional development. Based on one of Egyptian regions that is located in Red Sea axe، (lower Egypt region) and this is considered as the second region in its area that represent 16.17% of total area of Egypt with population not exceeding 4% of total population. The research concerns one of the locations in this region that is facing the red sea and has a huge natural potentialities، it is called Ras-Banas. The research aims to make this area one of the development poles and to be the region capital، which attracts population. The developed framework for regional development will be applied to this area to reach a theoretical model for developing Egyptian regions that achieve a real development to attract population from the narrow valley to the spread regions to achieve the required balance between population and area.

The phenomenon of street vendors and random markets in the streets, squares and railway stations in all the governorates of the Republic has spread in the Egyptian streets in most of the governorates. On the one hand, this phenomenon greatly affects the traffic movement through the occupation of these street vendors of roads in such a way that it is difficult in some areas to pass people in their cars and sometimes close some roads and cannot pass because of these sellers; In addition to the appearance of random markets non-civilized, Where constant quarrels, pollution and noise centers, and the headquarters of the bullying and outlaws, whether in Cairo or the provinces and located amid the residential blocs, and is a fertile place for the occurrence of disasters and the outbreak of fires. Although random markets are not new, they have increased significantly due to the increase in unemployment rates and the ease of entry into this trade, especially since the seller does not have any restrictions or financial burdens. He wants to market his goods regardless of whether they are good or bad without paying taxes or insurance. He has a commercial record and does not sell in a fixed place, especially as he roams on the sidewalks. The problem of research is to exacerbate the crisis of random markets seriously. If a solution is not found quickly, the reality determines that the existence of activities without the appropriate spaces causes either to be misplaced in other places or to threaten the entire market as a whole. On the urban entity and the aggravation of problems in the region The aim of the research is to understand and analyze markets in terms of types, components, regions and activities, and shed light on the most important problems resulting from the random markets of heterogeneity in the distribution of activities and lack of public services and green areas, in addition to the absence of clear areas such as garages and parking. And then develop a framework and a local model to develop controls for random markets as a tool to activate the role of these markets and to avoid the problems resulting from the random spread.

The compatibility and sustainability of desert architecture is the natural development for the desert community, they both shape a mechanism in order to seek the ecological balance between the desert community. The desert architecture is the same as old common desert community environments, that we can find that it has grew and developed in slow and steady way on the basis of compatibility and sustainability between man and the environment of desert community, which produced according to that forms of desert urbanism which has a local private imprint that indicates an accurate ecological balance for the desert community. The technological and economical progress by time to extension and linking the sustainable elements of desert architecture together, and this was reflected on the change of the design criteria of the desert architecture. In the context of the desert architecture affected by the modern era variables and that of the desert community’s image, the country aimed through a comprehensive strategic vision to prepare a development plans to achieve compatibility and sustainability of desert architecture, and exploitation of available natural resources in those areas, however, many of these desert communities were built on planning criteria and construction methods that did not apply accurate consideration to the impact of the change of the desert architecture’s design criteria, and the basics and criteria that is compatible to sustainability, also did not maintain of cultural privacy of the traditional desert community. The research study how much the sustainability criteria compatible on Ghadames Oasis as an application for the desert architecture in Libya, and how much we can get the basics and the criteria for the sustainable elements, and that’s through the impact of the change of the desert architecture’s design criteria to cope with the sustainable architecture in Libya, and how much it reacts with the surrounding environment. The research ended by presenting scientific results and recommendations and suggestions for how much the sustainability criteria is compatible with desert architecture and benefiting from the impact of change of the design criteria to keep up with sustainable architecture.
