REHABILITATION OF THE NEW ASSIUT CITY MAIN BUILDING IN TERMS OF DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Abstract
Disability is one of the most important social and health terms in the recent period in Egypt, especially with regard 2018 is Disabled year, and the enactment of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the beginning of the year 2018 (Law 10 of 2018), and each of us is disabled in one way or another permanent or temporary disability in his life, Anyone who breaks his leg may need a safe environment to move around without fear to follow his daily social activities, so the research deals with the problem of the rehabilitation of the building of the new city of Assiut to the requirements of people with disabilities of standards, Specifications, materials, slopes, elevators, entrances and doors As a public building serving different sectors of the society, including people with disabilities, especially after Egypt's signing of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The research aims to find a way to determine the compatibility of the building with the needs of persons with disabilities by designing a checklist to measure this According to a set of universal considerations for architectural design for the needs of people with disabilities in public buildings. The study concluded a series of measures that would increase or improve access for people with disabilities to the new Assiut building.
