Abstract
Parking is one of the main uses in the cities, as required by the car owners to park their cars. These parking play an important role in making the streets free from the existence of cars on both sides of the road to facilitate traffic flow, and without them streets are exposed to a lot of problems that can bedevil the traffic. In addition, it represents one of the factors that has indirect impact on the economy, society and environment and human being. The parking one of the main problems worsening, which the major cities suffer from on a daily basis, especially in developing countries, as a result of the increasing demand for them which overrides the available ones, especially in crowded places. The problem lies in the inadequacy and lack of spaces for parking in the crowded area. This lead to daily problems because of the process of searching for parking spaces, which followed by several negative impacts reflected on various aspects of the city life. With the worsening of the problem and its negative impacts, and the increasing awareness of environmental hazards, the value of time and the importance of economic rationalization and other sides necessary for the individual’s and society's life and progress; researchers of many developed countries tended to search for innovative and intelligent solutions to avoid and treat these problems even they reached to use Smart Parking which is systems based on the use of advanced technologies to provide enough parking and fulfill efficiency in their management. This study sheds the light on the most important reasons that contributed to the worsening the parking problem in crowded places at the major cities, and the most important negative impacts resulting from them, which faces various aspects of life. In addition to the review of the different systems of Smart parking, to reach each system’s role in the treatment many of the problem reasons, and with the flow of many of the positive effects which limits the parking problem to a large extent; to assist specialists and decision-makers in finding the access to put the smart solutions to face the existing parking problem in our cities, to be a step towards improve the city life and provide a healthy environment for those in charge in it. Then the research concludes with results and recommendations that can support the important role of smart parking in the reduction of the problem and the importance of integration among its systems.
